Fees & insurance

What it costs, in full.

Every number we charge, every plan we take, and every honest caveat — on one page, before you have to ask a single awkward question.

Fees & insurance

What it costs, before you have to ask.

Touch your plan. No portals, no surprise bills, no “contact us for pricing.”

In network. A typical copay is $20–40 per session once your deductible is met. We check your exact benefits before you commit to anything.

In network. Most Cigna plans cover 50-minute sessions with a copay of $25–45. We confirm yours in writing before the first session.

In network with most Optum-administered plans. Expect a $20–50 copay; we verify before you start.

Out of network for most Blue plans — many reimburse 50–80% after your out-of-network deductible. We give you a superbill each month.

Fees run $175–220 per session, with sliding-scale places from $90 held on every clinician's calendar. Ask — it is a normal question here.

Sliding scale, held open

Every clinician keeps sliding-scale places on their calendar — from $90. Asking for one is a normal part of starting, not a favour.

Superbills, explained

Out of network? We send you a monthly superbill — an itemised receipt your insurer can reimburse against — and we will walk you through submitting the first one.

Cancellation

Life happens. Cancel or move a session with 24 hours’ notice at no charge. Inside 24 hours, the full fee applies — because the hour was held for you — with obvious exceptions for emergencies. We are people, not a parking meter.

Out-of-network, walked through

If we are out of network for your plan: you pay the session fee, we send a monthly superbill (an itemised receipt with the codes insurers want), you submit it, and many plans reimburse 50–80% after the out-of-network deductible. We will sit with you while you submit the first one.

Good-faith estimate

Under the No Surprises Act you are entitled to a written estimate of costs before starting care. We provide one as a matter of course — not because we have to, but because guessing about money is corrosive to therapy.

When money is the obstacle

Say so. The sliding scale exists for exactly this, and if we are full at the fee you can manage, we keep a short list of colleagues we trust who charge less. Nobody is shamed for asking. Asking is the norm here.

Lying awake doing tomorrow already. Dreading the bed. The maths of 'if I fall asleep now I get five hours.'

We usually start with CBT-I — a structured, surprisingly gentle protocol with the strongest evidence base in sleep. Two weeks of sleep records, then small precise changes. No sleep hygiene lectures.

Most people I see haven’t slept properly in months. We start with your nights, not your childhood.

The same argument wearing different clothes. Distance that arrived slowly and stayed. Talking, but not saying anything.

Couples work here is Emotionally Focused Therapy — finding the softer thing under the fight and helping you both say it. Both of you in the room, nobody the villain.

The fight is rarely about the dishes. I’ll help you both hear what’s underneath it.

Colour turned down. Caring about things in theory. Fine, technically — and far away from your own life.

Numbness usually guards something. We go slowly — psychodynamic work, with somatic ways in when words are not ready. No forcing doors.

Numbness is usually protection, not absence. We’ll go slowly and find out what it’s guarding.

A date the year bends around. Startling easily. Telling it like a news report, or not telling it at all.

Trauma work at your pace, with clinicians trained in EMDR and trauma-informed care. You never have to narrate the whole of it for the work to work.

You don’t have to tell me the whole of it on the first day. Or ever, if that isn’t useful to you.

Loving the baby and grieving your life. Rage at strange moments. Everyone asking about the baby, nobody asking about you.

Perinatal work with IFS and practical support — naming what is actually happening, without the pastel language. This is more common than anyone says out loud.

This is far more common than anyone tells you. You are not failing at anything.
